Riesling Auslese from grapes from the Grosse Lage Karthäuserhofberg. This sheltered vineyard is located on the river Ruwer, where it almost merges into the Mosel. The domain Karthäuserhof owns the entire vineyard and makes a great dry Riesling GG here. They also make this beautiful Riesling Auslese from late harvested and selected grapes. The charm of this type of wines is their great sweet and sour balance, aromatic intensity and the level of complexity and refinement that emerge after several years of aging.

The sugar content and the ripe aromas are balanced by the wine acids that are so typical of German Riesling. And although the taste has quite a lot of depth, the lightness of the wine is also preserved - partly thanks to the very modest 8.5 percent alcohol. The wine is very pleasant to drink when young, but can easily be imposed for tens of years.

Tasting note

In the smell ripe yellow and tropical fruit, orange peel and a nuance of honey and pebbles. In the mouth richly sweet and fresh sour. Complex, exciting and with a great length.

Drink at

For example, drink this wine with tarte tatin, caramelized pineapple or other fruit-based desserts. Also a fine combination with pronounced cheeses.

shelf life

Drinkable from 2022 and can be kept for tens of years.
