Mourgues du Grès Costières de Nîmes Terre d'Argence Rouge

A full-bodied, generous red wine from Costières de Nîmes. Deep red in color, fruity and spicy on the nose with notes of blackberry, bay leaf, and a hint of leather. The palate begins smoothly and develops soft tannins on the finish. Drink from 1 to 2 years after harvest and will keep well for up to 5 to 6 years.

Description

Mourgues du Grès is considered one of the finest wineries in the Costières de Nîmes region. This is easy to understand when you taste this beautiful red wine. The Terre d'Argence is made from old Syrah vines, complemented by a touch of Mourvèdre and Grenache.

Because the vines are older, yields are low. This results in intense, flavorful, and concentrated juice. After fermentation, the wine is aged for at least another year and a half, but only in wood, to preserve as much of the pure fruit expression as possible.

Terre d'Argence is a full-bodied, ripe, and spicy red wine with a robust structure. This allows it to easily age for several years. If you're enjoying the wine young, we recommend decanting it an hour or two beforehand. Delicious with hearty dishes like lamb, beef stew, or sirloin steak.
