Description
The Niepoort Crusted 2021 has been bottled and is a blend of 2018 and 2019 Vintage Ports. The port is unfiltered. Crusted Port is a multi-year blend and matures in the bottle for 3 to 4 years before release. The vines are over 60 and over 100 years old, respectively. After a few years of aging, sediment will develop. This is the origin of the name: Crusted Port. Crusted Port is comparable to an unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage, but often of even higher quality. Niepoort is one of the few producers of Crusted Port and releases it every 3 to 5 years. Only 10,000 bottles are available worldwide, and the wine can age for up to 50 years in a cellar or climate control cabinet.
