Franz Wehrheim is undeniably one of the new star winemakers in German viticulture. It's no wonder the renowned wine magazine Vinum nominated him for the title of "Winzer des Jahres 2022." According to the magazine, Franz is leading his family estate to the absolute top in Germany. Vinum considers the conversion to biodynamic viticulture a key reason for his success.

Karl-Heinz, the father of the family estate, also sees a bright future for his son and the family winery. "Compare our situation with that in Burgundy twenty years ago," he says. "The Weissburgunder, Chardonnay, and Spätburgunder grape varieties here produce wines that, thanks in part to the warming in the vineyards, offer an interesting alternative for Burgundy lovers. And all at a very reasonable price."
