Good news! The renowned wine and port house Quinta da Romaneira (owned by the same company as Quinta do Noval) is reintroducing its beloved flagship R de Romaneira Tinto and, for the first time this year, has also produced a white variant. While many Douro wines are more luxurious and pricey, the R de Romaneiras are accessible in terms of both taste and price. An excellent opportunity to discover just how good and distinctive still table wines from the Douro can be!

The Branco is made from local grape varieties Viosinho, Gouveio, Rabigato, and Códega, harvested in Romaneira's own vineyards. A simple winemaking process follows in the cellar. Winemaker Carlos Agrellos presses the grapes and allows the juice to ferment in stainless steel tanks. This ensures the wine retains its pure, fruity character.

The Branco is therefore beautifully fragrant, with notes of citrus and tropical fruit. The taste is deliciously juicy and refreshing. Drink this white Douro on its own, as a luxury aperitif, but certainly also at the table. For example, with bacalhau (Portuguese-style cod), grilled fish, or soft, creamy cheeses.
