Description

Good news! The renowned wine and port house Quinta da Romaneira (sister of Quinta do Noval) is reintroducing its beloved flagship R de Romaneira Tinto and, for the first time this year, has also produced a white variant. While many Douro wines are more luxurious and pricey, the R de Romaneiras are accessible in terms of both taste and price. An excellent opportunity to discover just how good and distinctive still table wines from the Douro can be!

Carlos Agrellos makes the Tinto from the indigenous Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, and Touriga Nacional. The grapes are harvested in the house's own vineyards, planted on slate soils. Once picked, the grapes ferment in the cellar in stainless steel tanks. Oak aging is not involved.

As a result, the Tinto retains a wonderfully pure and fruity character, with notes of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, and a hint of spices. The wine is juicy and fruity, yet also full-bodied and with a firmer structure. This makes it delightful at the table, for example with grilled meat or vegetable dishes from the barbecue.
