Fresh and juicy dry white wine with nuances of yellow fruit and pears. The taste starts with fresh acidity and finishes with a round, mild aftertaste.
Now also Weissburgunder Chardonnay
In the picturesque, rolling landscape of Rheinhessen, surrounding the village of Drittelsheim, lie the vineyards of the family estate Weingut Winter. Founded in 1949, the winery has been run by Stefan Winter since 2000. This gifted winemaker has single-handedly ensured that the estate has grown into one of the serious players in Rheinhessen. It is not without reason that the estate has been a member of the prestigious Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (VDP) since 2013.
Although Stefan also produces some red wines, the focus at the estate is on white. Riesling is the most important grape; in addition, Stefan has specialized in the so-called Burgundy varieties: Chardonnay, Weissbrugunder (Pinot Blanc), and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris). These grapes have been planted increasingly in the region in recent years and yield very good results.
This Weissburgunder is a fine example of that. The grapes come from calcareous soils, resulting in a distinctive, refined wine. Drink it simply on its own, as an aperitif, or with light summer dishes such as salad or white fish.
