Description

Every year, the wine growers in the southern French region of Limoux organize a gastronomic festival in which the proceeds from wine sales benefit the restoration of the church of the organizing village. This event, in which a top chef - awarded three Michelin stars - holds sway, has now become a phenomenon in culinary circles.

The wines from the different terroirs (areas) are bottled separately. The Océanique terroir has the coolest vineyards, meaning the grapes ripen almost two weeks later than elsewhere. As a result, this wine has a chablis-like character. After harvesting, the wine ferments and matures for nine months in small oak barrels. Nevertheless, the wood smell and taste is excellently dosed.

Drink with

Delicious wine with seafood and fish dishes.

Tasting note

Fresh and aromatic chardonnay with some flint, toast and oak notes. The taste is full, round and fresh, with a persistent aftertaste.

Shelf life

Ready to drink from two years, easily kept for four to five years after harvest.
