Description

The red Nótios is made primarily from the renowned Greek grape Agiorgitiko and has recently been supplemented with 15% ripe Syrah grapes. The style of this smooth and easy-drinking wine undeniably resembles an elegant Italian Sangiovese, but is significantly rounder in flavor.

The small vineyard is nestled in the hills of the Nemea region of the Peloponnese. The small, modern producer, Gaia Estate, is considered one of the top producers here. Winemakers Yiannis (Bordeaux-trained) and Leon (agronomist) choose to preserve fruit and suppleness and do not age the wine in oak barrels.

This makes the Nótios, with its refined fruitiness, perfect for serving slightly chilled on warm days (maximum 17 to 18 degrees Celsius). Such purity and quality in the glass pays off: Gaia Estate is a successful exporter of authentic Greek wine.
