Greek dry white wine with a spicy aroma and a powerful, fresh taste. Made from Assyrtiko grapes. Delicious with grilled fish or shellfish.

Description

Gaia Estate is the exceptional wine estate with production in Nemea and Santorini owned by two progressive Greeks, Yiannis Paraskevopoulos and Leon Karatsalos. The high-quality technical input comes from Yiannis, among others, who graduated from the Bordeaux Wine University. Together with agricultural engineer Leon, he belongs to the group of the best wine producers in Greece.

The Assyrtiko from the island of Santorini is a rarity. The very old vines stand right by the sea in volcanic soil and are protected from the harsh sea winds by their gnarled trunks. Gaia uses exclusively wild yeast cells for fermentation. After a cool start to fermentation, the wine is allowed to ferment in the traditional manner and at a higher temperature.
