Tasting note Huber Zweigelt
Austrian red wine with a powerful aroma of ripe black currant and blackberry. The taste is intensely juicy and full: delicious with various meat dishes and spicy dishes.
Markus Huber owns about 25 hectares of vineyard in the best locations in the Traisental Valley and is now part of the premier league of Austria. Traisental is known for the strongly calcareous soil. In addition to white grapes such as grüner veltliner and riesling, Huber also plants the red swells. Huber is looking for plots with a high proportion of sand and loess soil for this grape variety. This gives the puffiness the pleasant fullness in taste. After fermentation, the wine matures for about 5 months in large oak casks. Climatically, with cool nights and warm days, Traisental is reminiscent of Burgundy at the same latitude
