Smooth, juicy and spicy
Delicious as a drink or with a daily meal

From DeMorgenzon from Stellenbosch

Full red, fruity wine with a drifting aroma of berries and jam-like red fruit. The taste is juicy, round and aromatic, with a fragrant aftertaste with slightly oak.

Walvisch Kaapse Rood is an unusual blend of petit verdot, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. The grapes mainly come from vineyards of the renowned DeMorgenzon Estate in Stellenbosch. It is remarkable that baroque music is played between the vines to promote the ripening of the grapes. The talented winemaker Carl van der Merwe makes a delicious, juicy red wine with a smooth character from young plantings. Walvisch is the name of a ship within the fleet of the Dutchman Jan van Riebeeck, who docked at the Cape of Good Hope on April 6, 1652. The name Walvisch symbolizes the age-old bond between the Netherlands and South Africa.
