Description
Alto Adige is one of Italy's northernmost wine regions. The region is especially known for producing pristine white wines from vineyards high in the Dolomite foothills. The best red wines usually come from lower-lying, warmer vineyards, as is the case with Il Conte.
Manincor uses indigenous grapes such as Lagrein, which makes up 48% of the Réserve del Conte. The internationally renowned and now "Italianized" Merlot—which contributes 35% of the wine's volume to its roundness and depth of flavor—and the spicy Cabernet Sauvignon (17%) also perform very well here.
The three grape varieties are harvested in vineyards overlooking Lake Caldaro. After harvest, they are fermented separately in concrete vats, stainless steel tanks, and wooden barrels using native, natural yeasts.
After blending, the wine is aged for twelve months in used barrels of various sizes. This results in a beautiful red wine with a lovely balance between freshness and roundness. A high-end introduction to the range of top-quality red wines from Alto Adige.

Wat een heerlijke wijn! Aromatisch, smaakvol, rood fruit. Fris, goede in de zuren, mooie balans met het hout, vanille en wat donkere tonen. Heel elegant, zeer drinkbaar en met de nodige diepgang en structuur. Heeft wal weg van een goede Bourgogne, maar dan betaal je wel wat meer.
