Graves Blanc
A French dry white wine with a fresh and refined aroma of citrus, apple, and light oak notes. The flavor is full, balanced, and refreshing. A lovely pairing with poached or pan-fried fish.
South of Bordeaux
The under-regarded Graves appellation, south of Bordeaux, offers wines that are among the most affordable in the Bordeaux region. For dry, oak-aged white wines, the region has become a benchmark among insiders.
Perrine and Fabien Lalanne's exquisite white wine is a striking example of top-quality Graves. The approximately nine-hectare white wine vineyard is planted half with Sauvignon Blanc and half with Semillon.
The grapes are harvested by hand. The Sauvignon Blanc undergoes a short maceration with its skins, while the Semillon is pressed immediately. Both grapes remain in cool tanks for four days and then ferment in small oak barrels. The eight-month aging on the lees results in a fuller, more complex flavor.
The result is a luxurious, classic Graves, which is delicious with fried scallops, a seafood platter or fish in a creamy sauce.
