Tasting note Quincy
Description
The small wine region of Quincy is located in the wine region of the Loire, slightly west of the famous Sancerre and Menetou-Salon, and is considered a relatively cool area. Very different from, for example, the South of France. You can taste that in wine that is made from grapes that need more time to ripen and therefore retain more acidity.
This quincy tastes fresher than a sauvignon from a 'warm' climate. Jean Tatin, owner of the Domaine du Tremblay, turns the grapes from old Sauvignon vines into a delicious and extremely pure dry white wine. Tasted blind, this wine can easily be mistaken for a good sancerre. Characteristic are the juicy fruit, the purity and a fresh drinkability. In short, a prime example of a classic Sauvignon.
