A delicious, powerful Alentejo Rosé
Beautiful Portuguese rosé, with the aroma of delicate red fruit and light spices. The taste is juicy, balanced, and fresh. An excellent wine with cold fish dishes, salads, or lightly spiced pastas.
From Bordeaux to Alentejo
Bordeaux-trained Alexandre Relvas makes beautiful and pure wines from indigenous Portuguese grapes. His delicious, spicy, dry rosé comes from Aragonez and Touriga Nacional grapes, which ripen optimally in the Alentejo region.
The timing of the harvest is crucial for making a fresh and drinkable rosé. While you can make a powerful red wine from very ripe grapes, rosé requires an earlier harvest. Harvesting earlier also means that the grapes are less uniformly ripe. Therefore, strict selection is necessary to pick only the best grapes, and this is much better done manually than mechanically.
A major additional advantage is that the harvest arrives in the cellar undamaged and does not unintentionally begin to ferment. The grapes undergo a short maceration and are then gently pressed. Manual picking is expensive and time-consuming, but much better for the quality of rosé. And you can taste that in this beautiful Herdade de São Miguel.
