Rioja Tempranillo, Garnacha blend.
Bright red in color and aromatic in aroma, with nuances of ripe red fruit and a mild touch of oak. The palate is smooth and rounded, with light, soft tannins and a pleasant finish.
Las Cuadras, also known as the old horse stables in Rioja.
A beautiful, distinctive Catalan red wine made from Spain's flagship grape, Tempranillo, supplemented with 30% Garnacha. Tempranillo thrives in Spain's higher, cooler vineyards.
When pruned properly – as with Las Cuadras – this grape reaches perfect ripeness. The Garnacha adds a spicy, smooth texture that pairs beautifully with the freshness and elegance of the Tempranillo.
After the harvest, a modern vinification process follows, followed by four months of aging in large French oak barrels. The oak aroma complements the subtle aroma of berries. The flavor is very accessible, juicy, and even full-bodied, yet without being heavy. Delicious with chicken, grilled meat, or simply as a side dish.
Las Cuadras was created for us by the talented oenologist Valva Martínez de Toda. In the Catalan village of Flix—about 150 kilometers west of Barcelona—she has been crafting exquisite wines for twelve years.
The climate in this beautiful, hilly part of Catalonia is Mediterranean, but with continental influences. This means warm days and relatively cool nights. Ideal for a winemaker who wants to make smooth, drinkable, and refreshing wines.
