classic Sicilian red from Caruso & Minini
100% nero d'avola, the red grape of the island
partly aged in wood for a nice balance between fruit and structure
ideal with pasta dishes with tomato sauce, pizza or roasted meat

Nero D'Avola

Bright red color, beautifully fragrant with ripe fruit tones, slightly caramel and mild spices. The taste is full and balanced and develops a mild tannin and aromatic finish.

Minini Sicilia Terre di Giumara

Nero d'Avola is the most widely planted blue grape variety in Sicily. Nero refers to the intense dark color of the skin and thus of the wine. The grape is said to have originated in the town of Avola, on the southeast coast of the island south of Syracuse.

In the hands of skilled winemakers, this grape variety produces good results all over the island. At Caruso & Minini, the grapes for this Nero d'Avola are harvested by hand and the wine ferments in steel tanks. A third of the wine is then aged in barriques for four months, while the remainder remains in steel tanks.

The result: a pleasant balance between juiciness and firmness. Combine it with classic Italian dishes such as pasta with tomato sauce, pizza or roast meat. Also nice to drink as is, with or without some salumi (Italian cold cuts) on the side.
