Lenardo Sauvignon Blanc

Crisp-dry white wine from Italy with an aroma of citrus, grapefruit and boxwood. The juicy spicy taste combines very well with fresh starters or fried fish.

Lenardo Vineyards Venezia Giulia

The young enthusiastic Massimo di Lenardo makes very attractive wines at the small family winery in Northern Italy. The high quality is confirmed annually by the most important Italian wine guides such as Gambero Rosso Veronelli and Luca Maroni. Di Lenardo wines are extremely pure in aroma and taste and confirm Friuli's high reputation as a special Italian wine region. The sauvignon grape has gained a great reputation in Northern Italy. The many hours of sunshine combined with cool vineyards ensure perfect ripening with mild acids. Di Lenardo knows how to bring in a great deal of purity.

Again, Massimo di Lenardo gets a very high score for its expressive, fresh-dry sauvignon. This wine stands out every year because of its pure, almost un-Italian taste. This is partly due to an early harvest - just before the aromas can become too exotic - and the ultra-modern, hygienic way of working in the cellar.

But the fresh-dry style can also be explained by the sauvignon vines brought from Sancerre by Massimo's father. These do extremely well on the flat vineyards near Udine (northeast of Venice). They impart the distinctive fresh Sauvignon aroma typically found in cooler wine regions. In combination with the precise working method, this takes the wine to an even higher level.
