Pleasantly scented sauvignon gris with fresh fruit notes of green apple and light boxwood. The juicy, mildly dry taste starts off round and fresh and develops in a balanced and aromatic way.
Description
The most remarkable wine in the collection of Domaine La Tour Beaumont is made from the rare fié gris, a local name for sauvignon gris. This grape variety, cousin of the internationally famous Sauvignon Blanc, owes its name to its slightly pinkish skin.
Like sauvignon blanc, fié gris produces a freshly dry, aromatic white wine, but with a characteristic slightly smoky nuance. With its fresh, pure, refined character, this wine is very suitable as an aperitif. At the table it is a perfect match with fresh salads or light fish or chicken dishes. Surprisingly different, yet unmistakably white Loire. Best tasting within 2 years after harvest.
