Pleasantly fragrant Sauvignon Gris with fresh fruit notes of green apple and a hint of boxwood. The juicy, mildly dry flavor begins round and fresh, developing into a balanced and aromatic wine.
Description
The most remarkable wine in the Domaine La Tour Beaumont collection is made from the rare fié gris, a local name for Sauvignon Gris. This grape variety, a cousin of the internationally renowned Sauvignon Blanc, owes its name to its slightly pinkish skin.
Like Sauvignon Blanc, Fié Gris produces a crisp, dry, aromatic white wine, yet with a characteristic, slightly smoky nuance. Its fresh, clean, and refined character makes it ideal as an aperitif. At the table, it pairs perfectly with crisp salads or light fish or chicken dishes. Surprisingly different, yet unmistakably a white Loire Valley. Best enjoyed within two years of harvest.
