Alvear Montilla-Moriles Fino CB

The Montilla-Morilles wine region lies north of the southern Spanish city of Malaga. For centuries, the region has been renowned for its yield of exceptionally high-quality Pedro Ximénez (PX) grapes. This grape variety is used in the production of both dry and sweet Montilla. This dry Fino is Alvear's flagship wine, made from the very best PX grapes. Aging in barrels under flor, a blanket of yeast cells, gives the wine distinctive aromas of yeast and almonds. CB comes from Carlos Billanueva, the cellar master who, in the early 19th century, marked the barrels containing the finest wines with his initials.
