|A true discovery for a competitive price|
Pago is the exclusive Spanish quality label for individual producers, comparable to the French grand cru classification. There are only nineteen wines left in this top category and they are distinguished by their location and quality. The main conditions are that only our own grapes may be used and that the wines must be of top quality.
Since 2011 Ramón Reula from Zaragoza has been allowed to call part of his production at Finca Aylés 'Pago'. In the heart of Aragon, in an extremely continental microclimate, he realized his dream and created a fantastic winery. Its finest wine, Senda de Leñadores, is made from garnacha, tempranillo, merlot and cabernet sauvignon.
The high-altitude vineyard has been in organic conversion since 2017 and produces less than thirty hectoliters per hectare. The grapes ripen gradually, are concentrated and have the characteristic 'Aragon' freshness. They are harvested at night.
After the fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the lactic acid fermentation takes place in small casks made of French oak. This beautiful wine then ages for another ten months in it. This is an impressive, modern Spanish red top wine with ripe fruit tones, luxurious oak and a powerful, full-bodied taste.
Good to combine with many mildly spiced dishes from the grill or from the oven.
Beautiful wine with a full red color and an intense aroma of ripe red fruit, toffee and oak aromas. The taste is fresh and powerful and develops balanced with ripe tannins and a fragrant aftertaste.
Ready to drink from three years after harvest, has a good shelf life up to six to seven years.
