Description
Stefano Caruso and his daughters Giovanna and Rosanna make fantastic, modern Sicilian wines in Marsala, on the western tip of the island. Their Naturalmente series consists of pure, energetic organic wines made from local Sicilian grape varieties and has been enthusiastically received not only by us but also by the international wine press.
The catarratto grape is a specialty of the province of Trapani, where Caruso e Minini is located. It was widely used in the production of Marsala, but also produces delicious dry white wines. To ensure maximum freshness in their wine, the Caruso family grows catarratto in their higher-altitude vineyards.
Once harvested, the grapes are destemmed and crushed in the cellar, followed by a short maceration on the skins. The juice then ferments at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine matures there for a while on the settled yeasts.
The result is a wonderfully fresh, elegant, and energetic white wine, with notes of apple, peach, anise, and ginger. It's delicious on its own or as an aperitif, but also pairs well with bruschette, caprese salad, or pasta with pesto. A wine that will lift your spirits!
