Great with ossobuco or wild boar

Tasting note Brunello di Montalcino

Beautiful and distinctive, light red colored Brunello with scents of fresh red fruit and notes of oak maturation. The taste starts full and fresh with ripe tannin. The finale is minutes long and aromatic.

Castello Romitorio in the famous Brunello di Montalcino is owned by the artist Sandro Chia, who bought the dilapidated azienda in 1984 to live there. He restored the buildings and planted Sangiovese sticks on the surrounding slopes.
The vineyards are located in the cool, northwestern part of Brunello. This now appears to be a major advantage because, in contrast to the warm south, the grapes ripen slower and longer here. That is crucial for the beautiful acids that characterize a large Brunello. The grapes are incidentally harvested by hand and ferment in stainless steel tanks. This is then aged for 24 months in small oak barrels and another 12 months in the bottle.

Drink with
Nice wine with dishes with mushrooms and truffle, but also with grilled meat dishes. Once matured, it is also very beautiful outside the meal.

Shelf life
Accessible even at a young age after decanting. Optimal taste between 5 and 10 years after harvest.
