Description
Enira has proven for years that it can handle French grape varieties exceptionally well. This isn't surprising, as the brain behind this Bulgarian estate is iconic Saint-Émilion producer Stephan von Neipperg.
As a Bordeaux producer, he's no stranger to creating a wine made from white grapes from the South of France. Try this fantastic Enira White, made primarily from Marsanne grapes, complemented by equal parts Viognier and Roussanne.
Once optimally ripe, the grapes are harvested by hand. After thorough selection on the sorting table, the grapes ferment separately. After fermentation, the wines are aged for several months on the yeasts, which are regularly stirred (bâtonnage). This adds body and a touch of toast. Finally, the wines are blended and bottled.
The end result is truly impressive. What a beautiful, characterful white wine! Ripe fruit notes (pear, apricot, melon), juicy, fresh acidity, a full, intense flavor, and what a length. A truly table-side wine, perhaps with roasted chicken or a delicious fish dish.
