Description
Thanks to winemakers like Rémi Branger and Gwénaëlle Croix, good Muscadet is a top choice for lovers of elegant, refreshing cool-climate wines. Their Domaine de la Pépière is considered by the press to be among the best in the region. Here, everything revolves around refinement, freshness, flavor length, and terroir expression, based on a biodynamic philosophy with minimal intervention.
Rémi and Gwénaëlle make Sur Lie from the unique regional melon de bourgogne grape, harvested in well-drained gravel vineyards with vines that are approximately 25 years old. The rather dry soil results in a limited yield, which translates into high-quality grapes.
After being hand-picked, the grapes are immediately fermented naturally—without additives—in the cellar. This is followed by the typical "sur lie" (on the yeast) maturation process typical of the region.
It produces a beautiful and intensely pure Muscadet, with lovely freshness and a long, lingering flavor. A delightful wine to drink on its own, but also fantastic with mussels or light fish dishes.
Drinking at
A subtle, crisp, dry white wine perfect for solo or with light (fish) dishes. Delicious with Niçoise salad, stir-fried cod with spring vegetables, Flemish-style mussels, or young, hard cheeses.
Tasting note
A delicate white wine with aromas of flowers, apple, pear, and brioche. Juicy, creamy, and invigorating on the palate with notes of white stone fruit. The finish is beautifully dry and refined with salty nuances.
Shelf life
Now beautiful and can be kept for up to 4 years after harvest.
