Eisacktal Alto Adige Aristos Kerner 2021

Aristos means 'best' in Ancient Greek and is therefore an appropriate name for this series of prestige bottlings from the Northern Italian cooperative Eisacktal. The grapes for the Aristos wines come from the best terroirs in the highest vineyards (up to 970 meters above sea level).

These vineyards are maintained with the utmost care by the members of the cooperative - quality is of paramount importance at Eisacktal. Due to the steep and high location, harvesting is done exclusively by hand. The aromatic white kerner grape is the specialty in the Eisacktal.

Once in the cellar, winemaker Hannes Munter ferments the juice after pressing in stainless steel tanks. He then ages the wine for another ten months on the fine yeasts, partly in stainless steel tanks, partly in large wooden barrels.

The result is a special white wine full of character, with a pronounced fragrant aroma and a full, intense and juicy taste. It is particularly gastronomic - think of fish, poultry or white meat, but also asparagus, spicy dishes or creamy cheeses - and can also age well in the bottle.
