Description
Aristos means "best" in Ancient Greek, making it a fitting name for this series of prestige bottlings from the northern Italian cooperative Eisacktal. The grapes for Aristos wines come from the finest terroirs in the highest vineyards (up to 970 meters above sea level).
These vineyards are meticulously maintained by the cooperative members – quality is paramount in Eisacktal. Due to the steep and high altitude, harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand. The aromatic white Kerner grape is the Eisacktal specialty.
Once in the cellar, winemaker Hannes Munter ferments the juice in stainless steel tanks after pressing. He then ages the wine for another ten months on the fine yeasts, partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in large wooden barrels.
The result is a unique and characterful white wine, with a distinctly fragrant aroma and a full, intense, and juicy flavor. It's exceptionally gastronomic—think fish, poultry, or white meat, but also asparagus, spicy dishes, or creamy cheeses—and also matures beautifully in the bottle.
