Eisacktal Alto Adige Weissburgunder 2022

The Eisacktal (Valle Isarco in Italian), in the northern Italian wine region of Alto Adige, is known for its pure, cool white mountain wines. The Kellerei Eisacktal cooperative is also regarded as one of the leading producers. Try this beautiful, juicy Weissburgunder.

Eisacktal sources the weisburgunder grapes (pinot bianco in Italian) from steep slope vineyards in the lower part of Valle Isarco. Lower in quotes, because the vineyards are still at an altitude of 500 to 750 meters. This is where the Weissburgunder comes into its own. Due to the steep and high location, the grapes are picked by hand.

Once in the cellar, a simple vinification follows: after the soft pressing, the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a cool temperature in order to obtain a wine that is as fruity and juicy as possible. After a short maturation on the yeasts, the wine is bottled.

It produces a refined Weissburgunder, with a subtle scent of apple, pear and peach. Striking is the combination of a ripe, rich and creamy taste, and at the same time exciting fresh acidity and a fine juiciness. Drink this beautiful mountain wine as a luxurious aperitif or, for example, with light fish dishes.
