Elvia Cava Brut Nature Reserva
Complex Cava with a powerful aroma of herbs, green apple and toast. The taste is full and fresh and ends aromatically with a powerful aftertaste. Excellent aperitif with amuses, but can also be combined with cold dishes with meat and fish.
Sparkling white wine from Spain
What a great Cava, this Brut Nature Reserva! It is made by Luis Miguel Calleja, in Valencia. Although this area is warmer than the classic Cava region of Penedès, the high altitude of the vineyards and the moderating influence of the Mediterranean Sea guarantee sufficient fresh acidity for beautiful bubbles.
This Reserva proves this, made from 100% macabeo. After harvesting, only the best part of the juice (namely that part that is released without pressing) is used for this wine. After a first fermentation in tank, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle as usual. Here the wine then rests on the yeasts for no less than 46 months.
It is this maturation that gives this Cava its layering and full body, as well as refined notes of toast and brioche. No sugar is added during bottling, hence Brut Nature. A nice dry Cava, but certainly not bone dry, thanks to the beautiful ripe fruit. Drink it as a luxurious aperitif, or in combination with seafood or fish. Recommended!
