DOCG Barolo to love.
Bright red in color with some development. Spicy, slightly mature aromas of black fruit like blackberries and currants. The palate is full, rounded with mild tannins and finishes with a fragrant, lingering finish.
Seghesio from Monforte d'Alba
The Seghesio family owns approximately 10 hectares of naturally cultivated vineyards in the hills of Monforte d'Alba. Four hectares of these are planted with Nebbiolo vines over 50 years old, entitled to the Barolo appellation. The hand-harvested grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation. The wine is then aged in large Slovenian barrels and smaller French Allier oak casks. The wine's refinement and supple tannins are characteristic of the house's style. This makes this Barolo ideal for cellaring, but also very tempting now – especially if you decant it.
