Description

The Controlled Designation of Origin Squinzano - named after the town of the same name - is located in the heart of Salento, between the cities of Lecce and Brindisi.

This beautiful full-bodied red wine is made from 85% Negroamaro grapes and 15% Malvasia Nera. After alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is transferred to small casks made of Allier oak. This is considered by many winemakers to be one of the most refined woods for wine aging.

This is where the maturation takes place for about six months. The result is a very accessible, round taste while retaining the characteristic freshness of the Negroamaro grape. Delicious on its own or with roasted meat, preferably slightly chilled in summer.

Drink at

Mouth-filling wine, possibly slightly chilled, delicious with roasted meat.

Tasting note

Full, round wine with a lot of flavor intensity and aroma; a striking spiciness in the nose (cinnamon!) and a full, sultry taste with a lot of length and softness.

Shelf life

To drink from one year after harvest, can be kept up to four years after harvest.
