Description

What a beautiful, expertly crafted rosé from Alexandre Relvas, winemaker at our popular Alentejo estate, Herdade de São Miguel. Due to the hot climate of southern Portugal, most of Alexandre's wines are beautifully balanced, yet also deep in color and full, powerful, and distinctive in flavor. The Pom-Pom, on the other hand, has a strikingly light salmon pink color and a surprisingly refreshing taste.

Alexandre makes it from hand-harvested Touriga Nacional, Syrah, and Aragonez (Tempranillo). Once in the cellar, the grapes are pressed after a short maceration on the skins, which gives the juice a beautiful salmon-pink color. Alexandre ferments the juice partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in oak barrels. Finally, he ages 10% of the wine for four months in French oak barrels for a touch of extra fullness and creaminess.

The Pom-Pom is a juicy, accessible rosé with notes of strawberry, peach, and grapefruit and a lingering flavor. Enjoy it as an aperitif with small snacks, but also with summer salads, grilled fish, or shellfish. A beautiful rosé that, with its unique presentation, also looks stunning on the table.

An accessible, refreshing Provence-style rosé to enjoy on its own or with small appetizers. It also pairs beautifully with a crostino with tomato pesto, white bean salad with tuna, or prawns, and barbecued fish.
