Tasting note Jean Paul Brun
French red wine with the aroma of ripe red cherries and a balanced, full flavor. A wine with length, delicious with spicy (meat) dishes or a fine cheese.
Description
'Ça pinote,' says Jean-Paul Brun, which means that this wine is acquiring characteristic Pinot Noir aromas. Although made from the Gamay grape, this is a well-known phenomenon at the best Moulin-à-Vent. The winemaking method here is also classic and resembles that of a great Burgundy. Slow fermentation, no chaptalization (enrichment of the must with sugar), and the use of natural yeast strains.
Forget what you know about candy-like Beaujolais and come taste a great wine with only 12% alcohol! This is a beautiful food wine that also tastes excellent when young.
Authentic, superior Beaujolais without candy-like aromas!
Wine Magazine Proefschrift:
However, the wines are anything but 'Parker-esque blockbusters' in the form of lots of color, lots of alcohol, lots of wood, and lots of body. They excel in digestibility, lightness, and the purest grape expression.
