|EAN:||Weingut Thörle Rheinhessen Saulheimer Kalkstein Spätburgunder|
German bright red wine with the fresh aromatic scent of cherries and herbs and an elegant fruity taste. Fine wine with poultry or mild pasta dishes.
Christoph and Johannes Thörle make insanely delicious pinot noir in the northern part of Rheinhessen on limestone-rich ground.
Insiders consider the winery of the two talented brothers as the strongest emerging domain in Rheinhessen. The journalists of Wine Enthusiast Wine Advocate Gault & Millau and Feinschmecker, for example, follow the developments closely and rate the Thörle wines extremely positively.
The grapes for this wine are harvested as late as possible - often only at the end of October - and picked by hand to obtain the best possible quality. Spätburgunder is a delicate grape and the harvest moment has a great influence on the style of the wine. The brothers Thörle seek finesse and an optimal balance between acids aromatic intensity and maturity.
After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine ripens for about ten months in used oak casks. The subdued wood aroma supports the refined fruit flavors and is beautifully dosed.
Really a very nice spätburgunder that will appeal to many burgundy enthusiasts but also a nice introduction for pinot noir debutants.
