Deep red in color and refined and aromatic on the nose, with fresh blackberries, herbs, and a light oaky note. The palate begins softly and roundly, developing in balance with ripe tannins and a fragrant finish.
Beautiful Cotes du Rhone
The renowned Domaine Les Clos de Caillou owns 9 hectares of vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and, directly adjacent to it on virtually the same terroir, over 40 hectares of the Côtes du Rhône appellation control. All vineyards are fully organically farmed, with a strong emphasis on biodynamics. Renowned English wine writer Jancis Robinson praises the "Burgundy"-like style of the wines. The "Les Quartz" comes from a plot of vineyard that was once not classified as Châteauneuf, due to the eccentric owner of the time, who refused access to the surveyors. The quality of the Grenache (85%) and Syrah grapes is exceptional and undisputed. The wine is aged for approximately 14 months in used wooden barrels and has complexity and length.

Ik heb vorige week de Les Quartz uit 2015 opengemaakt. 10 jaar oud dus, maar nog steeds een heerlijke wijn! Zacht en natuurlijk wat rijper, maar nog steeds elegant met een prachtig smaakpalet.
