A fresh Inzolia
A typical Sicilian dry white wine. Delicately aromatic, with nuances of fresh yellow fruit and a hint of citrus. The palate begins juicy, full, and fresh, finishing aromatic and balanced. Delicious with cold or warm fish dishes or mildly spicy pasta dishes.
Caruso & Minini
On the western tip of Sicily, in the province of Trapani, lies the Caruso & Minini family winery. Although located in the heart of Marsala production, the family primarily focuses on producing white and red wines. With an eye for the centuries-old wine culture, they create modern, typically Sicilian wines from both native and international grape varieties.
Inzolia is a perfect example of such a classic Sicilian white wine. It's a truly local grape variety, originating from the western coast of the island. While it was once a key component of Marsala, it's increasingly used in dry white wines, sometimes in blends.
This Caruso & Minini wine is bottled as a single varietal, or in purezza, as the Italians so aptly put it. The wine is fermented and aged exclusively in steel tanks. This creates a beautiful, pure expression of the Inzolia grape.
Enjoy this mild, fragrant, and slightly spicy Sicilian wine on its own, or pair it with, for example, creamy pasta with mushrooms, baked or grilled fish, or oven-baked chicken. La dolce vita!
