Description
Monterey County, south of San Francisco, is known as "America's salad bowl" because of its agriculture. But did you know that this area—especially towards the coast—is also ideal for high-quality wine production?
The climatic conditions are suitable for both early- and late-ripening grape varieties. The proximity of the Pacific Ocean creates the perfect conditions for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir: warm, sunny days are tempered by refreshing breezes and mist from the sea, alternating with cool nights. Further inland, it is warmer, and grapes like Cabernet and Merlot truly flourish.
Granite Coast Vineyards is considered one of Monterey's pioneers and produces distinctive, high-quality wines. This Chardonnay comes from the cool, northern part of Monterey County. The grapes are grown sustainably.
Once harvested, the grapes are pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve as much of the pure fruit flavor as possible. After fermentation, 70% of the wine is also aged in stainless steel tanks, with the remainder in new French oak barrels. The result is a beautiful Californian Chardonnay with notes of tropical fruit, butter, and toast. Pure seduction!
