Description
The red Madxa (pronounced "madsja") is made from grapes from the Dão and Alentejo regions. Blending different wine regions is becoming a trend, although it was common practice even before the establishment of controlled areas of origin.
Alexandre Relvas, the young winemaker trained in Bordeaux, combines the freshness and elegance of the Dão with the ripeness and richness of Alentejo wines. The result is a blend of Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Castelão, and Touriga Nacional grapes. A smooth, accessible red wine that uniquely retains the freshness and light tannins of the Dão. This makes it an excellent pairing with all kinds of savory snacks, lamb stew, soft cheeses, and poultry.
