Intensely fragrant, dry white wine with aromas of grapefruit, passion fruit, and green herbs. Pure, crisp and fresh, with a fine texture. Lively and beautifully fruity on the finish.
Description
The Pencarrow Sauvignon comes from the cellar of Palliser Estate, one of New Zealand's outstanding estates. Winemaker Guy MacMaster uses premium grapes from organically farmed vineyards. They produce a round and seductive white wine, naturally in the characteristic, crystal-clear, and expressive style of this relatively young and ultra-modern wine country.
The vineyards are located in Martinborough, the southernmost wine region on the North Island. Because of its location, it's a bit warmer here than the well-known Marlborough, which lies on the South Island. This is reflected in the wines, including the ripe and intensely flavorful Pencarrow. Palliser's premium wines are aged on the lees (sur lie) with regular bâtonnage (stirring the wine and yeast).
Guy MacMaster also uses this technique for the Pencarrow Sauvignon, but limits the aging time to three months. This gives the wine a delicious, juicy flavor while retaining its beautiful aroma. A real asset to our collection!
