Description
Lytton Springs is a renowned, single vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, with vines up to 100 years old. The plants grow as untrained bush vines close to the ground. The poor, gravelly, clay-rich soil naturally results in low yields (average 30 hl/ha) and excellent grape concentration.
Lytton Springs is a blend of primarily Zinfandel, supplemented with small amounts of Petite Sirah, Carignan, and Mataro (Mourvèdre) for added complexity. After fermentation, the wine is aged for fourteen months in small barrels of first-, second-, and third-year American oak.
