Reichsrat von Buhl Pfalz Deidesheimer Herrgottsacker Erste Lage Riesling Trocken 2021

Powerful, crisp, dry white wine with a refined aroma and taste of grapefruit, peach, toast, and a subtly complex mineral nuance. The finish is long and richly nuanced. Lovely to drink on its own or served with fish dishes, whether oven-baked or pan-fried. Keeps for at least ten years after the harvest.

This is a particularly fine Riesling from the Erste Lage (premier cru) Herrgottsacker. Von Buhl's plots are situated high on the hill of this 'Grosslage', practically right up against the Grosses Gewächs (grand cru) Ungeheuer. The grapes from here are therefore of a very different quality than those from the lower and flatter areas.

This Herrgottsacker is of phenomenal quality and, as far as we are concerned, of 'GG' level. A rare opportunity, therefore, for lovers of top-quality Riesling. Only 35 hectoliters per hectare are harvested (less than permitted for GG!) and the wine ages for 14 months on the lees in large oak barrels.

The organic grapes yield a wine of exceptional refinement and complexity. Moreover, it is beautifully ripe and has a wonderful balance between roundness and fresh acidity. The creamy, intensely aromatic finish lasts for minutes.

You can drink the wine now, undoubtedly with great pleasure. It can also be stored for at least another 5 to 6 years. The wine will then acquire the characteristic aging aromas of older Riesling and consequently develop a more pronounced flavor. Taste this fantastic Herrgottsacker and discover top-level Riesling.
