Beautiful Gastronomic Riesling

A beautiful German dry white wine with a subtle aroma of citrus, light herbs, and flowers. The palate is elegant and crisply dry. Pairs well with fish dishes, asparagus, or poultry.

Naturally fermented Riesling

Organic pioneer Clemens Busch produces a highly distinctive Riesling in the Mosel region, with a strong terroir expression. Technical human intervention in the cellar is subordinate to the wine's style. The natural yeast from the vineyard significantly influences the wine's aroma and flavor, thus creating variations from plot to plot and from barrel to barrel.

Clemens lets nature take its course. It's therefore customary for fermentation to be slow and long, sometimes as long as eight to ten months. A duration that modern winemakers consider extreme and even irresponsible! The blend then develops great complexity and requires bottle aging.

Like this delicately scented, crisply dry Riesling 'Vom Roten Schiefer', whose grapes come from vineyards with red slate. Despite its modest alcohol content, this wine has a powerful, long, and lingering finish. This is only possible with the very low yield per vine that Clemens Busch typically achieves. A magnificent, gastronomic wine.
