Tasting note Due Palme Primitivo del Salento Don Cosimo
A full red wine from the southern Italian Apulia with fresh spice and the smell of ripe fruit. The taste is soft and full. Tasty with spicy dishes or spicy cheeses.
The quality of wines from the southern Italian Apulia is progressing well, but recognition as a good wine region is less rapid in Italy itself. This is due to the bias of many Northern Italians about the alleged low quality of all South Italian products. But wine lovers from across the border are fortunate to see this differently. That explains why the bottled Apulian wine is especially successful in export, as is the case with the leading producer Cantine due Palme.
Director and chief winemaker Angelo Maci a born 'Pugliese' is an enthusiastic champion of autochthonous grape varieties such as the old primitivo: a reliable and classic grape from the south. Angelo Maci has a beautiful red wine from those six months ripening on small oak casks.
