Deep red in color, powerful and refined with black berries, blackberries and a light touch of wood in the aroma. The taste is sultry, soft and round and develops powerfully and aromatic with oak and ripe fruit in the aftertaste. Fine red wine with spicy beef dishes or stews.
Barossa is one of the oldest and best wine regions of Australia and is internationally known by the now deceased, iconic Peter Lehmann. His son Phil, from St. John's Road, makes a great red shiraz in this region. With the so recognizable 'warm climate tones' of ripe blackberries and raspberries, slightly mint and beautiful, luxurious wood scents due to the 15 months of aging in French oak. This shiraz comes from specialized grape growers from the sub-districts Ebenezer (Andy Kalleske vineyard) and Stonewell (Paul and Angie Schutz). Besides a beautiful ripeness, their shiraz has retained enough acids, so that the Blood & Courage has a stylish barossa-finesse. This is the wine for tasty dishes. This powerhouse with freshness can do a lot, just like the Australian rugby players on the label!
