Collefrisio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
A full-bodied red wine from Italy with a powerful, spicy aroma. The flavor is soft and refreshing, pairing beautifully with spicy pasta dishes or grilled meats from the barbecue.
Crystal clear, juicy organic wines from Italy
This beautiful Abruzzo wine stands out convincingly from the vast number of light, thin wines primarily focused on high yields. With his Collefrisio winery, De Luca demonstrates the potential of this still underrated region. The grapes for this rich, full-bodied yet supple red wine are harvested late in the second half of October and in perfect health.
Optimally ripe grapes provide juiciness and fruit, as well as soft tannins: key prerequisites for enjoyable drinking. On warm days, the wine tastes even better slightly chilled. It's suitable year-round, for example, with salads and barbecues, but also delicious with hearty stews.
Unlike the large, dominant cooperatives in southern Italy's Abruzzo region, the small Azienda Collefrisio employs winemaking techniques focused on high quality and preserving typicity. The organically farmed vineyards produce excellent wines that are among the very best in the region.
Amedeo De Luca and Antonio Patricelli also possess an Italian sense of style and have recently significantly enhanced the labels. They understand that not only should the wine taste good, but the packaging is equally important! Filarè is the successor to the Collefrisio Zero series.
