Full red hue and a strong, fruity aroma with cherries, blackberries and a light spiciness. The taste is full and juicy and ends with mild tannins in the aftertaste.
The Vino Rosse DOC from Santo Spirito
The Burgundy of the Mediterranean, owner Marco de Grazia describes his refined mineral Sicilian wines from hillside vineyards on the northern flank of the Etna volcano. The height provides cooling and refinement in the wines.
The organic planting and the ambition to make top quality force Marco to low yields so that the native grapes have a beautiful expression. The nerello mascalese and cappuccio grapes are only harvested in October on the volcanic vineyards located between 600 and 900 meters high. After the fermentation at low temperature, there is a short maturation in tanks and bottling follows. The absence of oak ripening contributes to the wonderful fruit expression of the Nerello.
