Tasting note Terre Nere Rosso
Full red tint and a powerful, fruity aroma with cherries, blackberries and a slight spiciness. The taste is full and juicy and ends with mild tannin in the aftertaste.
The Burgundy of the Mediterranean is how owner Marco de Grazia typifies his refined mineral Sicilian wines from hillside vineyards on the northern flank of Mount Etna. The height provides cooling and refinement in the wines. The organic planting and the ambition to make top quality force Marco to low returns so that the native grapes have a beautiful expression. The nerello mascalese and cappuccio grapes are only harvested in the volcanic vineyards between 600 and 900 meters high in October. After fermentation at low temperature, a short maturation on tanks follows and bottling. The absence of oak maturing contributes to the wonderful fruit expression of the nerello.
