Description
White Rhône grape varieties are making a comeback and enriching the wine selection with their original flavors. For instance, at Le Clos du Caillou, the vineyard features old vines of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Roussanne, among others.
These grapes often struggle in the competition with popular and well-known grapes such as Sauvignon Blanc. But fortunately, these classics have never disappeared from finer French gastronomy, where they are appreciated and non-dominant companions to refined dishes.
Bruno Gaspard makes optimal use of modern winemaking techniques to produce contemporary organic white wines from these traditional grape varieties. Le Caillou Blanc has a juicy taste with a delightful freshness and is, almost naturally, bottled without any form of oak aging.
This dry, fragrant white wine tastes best in its youth, but lovers of ripe notes can easily keep it for up to three years after the harvest. Not only a gastronomically interesting wine, but also a delicious aperitif. Highly recommended!
