Fresh white wine with a distinct aroma of pear and fresh yellow fruit. Succulent of flavor with a round development and a mild aftertaste.
Old, almost forgotten grape varieties make a comeback. At Le Clos du Caillou they happily praise grenache blanc, clairette and bourboulenc in the bio vineyards. In the past they were pushed away by the power of aromatic strong grapes such as sauvignon blanc. But fortunately they never disappeared from the classical French gastronomy, where they are esteemed and 'quiet' table companions in refined dishes. Bruno Gaspard makes optimum use of modern vinification techniques to make contemporary wines from these grapes. He offers them as a wonderful alternative to, for example, chardonnay and sauvignon. Le Caillou blanc has a juicy taste with a delicious freshness and is almost naturally bottled without any form of oak maturation.
