Segredos de São Miguel Alentejo Branco 2024

A soft, dry white wine from Portugal, with aromas of flowers, honey, and light fruit. The palate begins smoothly and softly, finishing with a fresh, fragrant finish. Excellent as an aperitif, with cold fish appetizers, or with salads.

 

Segredos de São Miguel is a beautiful example of a modern white wine. It boasts the purity of a ripe, healthy harvest and the full expression of indigenous Portuguese grapes such as antão vaz, arinto, encruzado, and rabo de ovelha. Winemaker Alexandre Relvas was technically trained in Bordeaux. As the son of the eponymous owner, he represents the next generation at this magnificent winery in the Alentejo region, east of Lisbon. The grapes for this white wine are harvested at night, thus keeping them cool. They are macerated with the skins for eight hours prior to temperature-controlled fermentation. After a short aging "on lees" in stainless steel tanks, this fragrant, dry white wine is bottled.
