Wood-aged Mendoza Malbec
Full and powerful red wine with a delicious soft taste and a beautiful aroma of ripe red fruit, oak coffee and some mint. Good to combine with tasty dishes of beef or game.
Italian from Mendoza
Wood-aged malbec from the Argentinian Chakana is the textbook example of the new generation of malbec wines from Mendoza. The Italian touch of owner Juan Pelizzatti winemaker Gabriel Bloise and advisor Alberto Antonini is reflected in the quest for refinement and freshness. It goes without saying that high-altitude vineyards in Agrelo and Drummond, two locations on the foothills of the Andes, are therefore chosen.
Warm days alternated with cool nights ensure ripe grapes that retain their fruitiness well. The blend of grapes from the two regions gives a beautiful wine distinctive from other Mendoza bodegas who focus more on a sultry 'thick' taste. In addition, Chakana opts for aging in casks of refined French oak. The result? An impressively powerful but also very accessible malbec.
