Description
Want to discover the crème de la crème of the famous Bordeaux wine region without shelling out an astronomical sum? You can, with this beautiful organic Le 19ème Rang from Château Haut-Bages-Libéral.
This estate is a fifth-class grand cru, spectacularly situated in Pauillac: it boasts none other than Château Latour, Pichon Baron, and Pichon Lalande as its immediate neighbors. Over the past five years, Haut-Bages-Libéral has performed well beyond its original classification.
As an introduction to the château and its famous appellation, Haut-Bages-Libéral produces this Le 19ème Rang. The wine takes its name from the plot where the organically grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are harvested.
After being hand-picked, the grapes in the cellar receive the same generous treatment as those destined for the "grand vin." The wine is aged for ten months in barriques before Le 19ème Rang is bottled.
Expect a beautifully ripe, distinguished, yet fruity and elegant Bordeaux, with polished tannins and a long finish. A wonderful introduction to Pauillac and the grand cru classé Haut-Bages-Libéral!
